S1 Discretionary Places

    • The application period is decided by EDB each year.For the 2008 cycle, the application period is from 3rd January to 28th January 2008.
    • Primary 6 applicants will get the required forms from their primary schools. They should duly complete the relevant forms and take them to the College within the application period, preferably in person.
    • The applicants will be called for an interview in March or April 2008. They will be assessed in accordance with the following criteria:
      • Student’s conduct, participation and performance in extra-curricular activities and social service (40%)
      • Student’s academic achievement (30%)
      • Student’s performance during the interview (30%)
    • The EDB will release the allocation results on 8th July 2008 through the primary schools. Students who have been allocated to our College will have to report on 10th or 11th July 2008 for registration. Late-comers may not be given a place.

Newly Arrived Children

    • Newly arrived children are urged to apply as soon as possible on arrival.
    • They will need to produce their HKID card and travel documents for inspection to make sure they are allowed to go to public sector schools in Hong Kong.
    • Admission as well as entry level will be determined by the interview and the performance of the applicants in the entrance examination. Each of the tests (i.e. English, Mathematics and Chinese tests) is one hour long.
    • Chinese language is a compulsory subject for all students of the College. Non-Chinese students who are able to follow the local curriculum are encouraged to sit for the local exam. The others will be prepared for Chinese Language in the GCSE exam. According to the College policy, only English and Chinese are to be used in the classroom for learning and interaction.
    • Subjects other than Chinese language will be taught through the medium of English. Students may get extra support from teacher assistants who can speak English and Urdu, Nepali or Thai respectively.
    • The College has a good school bus service and so parents don’t have to worry about transportation problem and road safety.

Other Applicants

    • The College will consider other applicants when there are still vacant places left unfilled after the summer or as a result of sudden withdrawals.
    • Admission as well as entry level will be determined by the interview and the performance of the applicants in the entrance examination. Each of the tests (i.e. English, Mathematics and Chinese tests) is one hour long.
    • The College will give preference to applicants with good school records and excellent conduct.
    • Applicants can call the General Office on 2570 90666 to make a booking for interview in advance.
