“Communicative Language Teaching” and “Task-Based Language Teaching” form the backbone of the language teaching methodologies being employed. Subject to the target language learning objective(s) in a lesson, as well as in an attempt to address learners’ diversity, alternative language teaching methodologies are occasionally called into use, which may include, but not limited to, the “Natural Approach”, “Situational Language Teaching”, “Content-Based Instruction”, “Cooperative Language Learning” and “Technology-Assisted Language Learning”.
English in a Flash
‘English in a Flash‘ provides ‘Useful English Tips from Short Video Clips’ produced entirely by our NET, Mr. Wattie Chan.
English Week
Every Year English Week is one of those events that our students anticipate. We have interactive English activities that blend the performing arts and technology during the week that is consumated by our Annual IKTMC GOT TALENT show.
English Hangout
Our English Hangout is a place where you get to “hang out” all while speaking English during lunch time – twice a week. Our Crew Members interact with students playing fun board games and apps too. They also work on writing scripts for Campus TV, host certain functions at school and even participate in a Drama production. We strive to make our English environment fun and immersive.
Campus TV
Students are involved in the entire process of creating a CAMPUS TV episode. From writing, filming and editing. Yes we even do the subtitling. Film production is a contextualized way of using the English Language. Not only has it helped students who have been involved improve their English, but it has shone a spotlight to their creativity.
